With a smile

There are times when life starts to get overwhelming. Work is putting too much on your plate. The kids have too many things they need help with, and the house seems to always nees updates and cleaning. There are never enough hours in a day, and you have no idea how to slow things down.

Welcome to the world of being an adult. They forgot to mention all of these things as you were growing up.  Well maybe they told us, but we never believed that it was as bad as they made it sound.

I find myself calling my mother and father often to complain about these moments in life that get passed me too fast.  They are not impressed by this, seeing as they are going thru it too. They just happen to be at a different stage then I am.

Writing for me is a chance to breathe. Not everyone understands that. Writing these words, whether typing it out or writing in long hand, is like a breathe of fresh air.  It doesn’t matter where I set my pen down because creativity and an active imagination always allow me to pick it back up.

It lightens my soul, allowing the storm always brewing a canvas to show its brilliance. It gives me the calm that I am searching. It allows me to face the world with a light heart so I can enjoy the things that can otherwise overwhelm me.

  1. I’m glad you can write on here, to share your thoughts and feel the breath of fresh air it brings. I find myself getting overwhelmed with adulthood and life in general a lot, and I think it takes courage to reach out, to speak out, to share how you feel. Swallowing it all down and pasting on a smile while saying your ‘fine’ can lead to it all building up, which isn’t good. Please keep writing, keep airing it all out, and know you’re not alone 🙂
